In the fall of 2018 we gathered together as Christ Covenant Church to see and hear the Vision our Elders have for the next few years (2018-2020) at CCC. Part of this time was used to launch our Mission Statement the other was to address the need for some updates to our property and expansion of our education space. Below is each vision with explanation and pictures.
There is an old maxim that goes like this -"ugliness repels, beauty attracts." This would certainly apply to our current parking lot, landscaping, and lack of proper water drainage. After conversations with many of you, the elders agree that paving the parking lot, beautifying our landscape, and improving water drainage is an important priority for our building and grounds. Our hope and prayer is to enhance the function and beauty of our grounds with this part of the 20/20 campaign.
The "good" news is our church is growing, especially among our younger families with infants, toddlers, and youth. The "bad" news is that we have already outgrown our current classroom space. In addition, the elders recognize the need for the church to come alongside our families in order to train the next generation in the gospel. Historically, the church has called this catechesis. We need a variety of enhanced spaces for age-appropriate classrooms to accommodate this need. We intend to develop this commitment to our children in more rigorous ways in the near future.
The Lord was generous and kind to bless us in February, 2017 with (11) eleven acres of land and 27,000 square feet of building space. We originally paid $450,000.00 (Financing $400,000). We, then, raised an additional $319,500.00 for the up-fit. Our loan balance at the end of 2018 will be $280,000.00. By the end of 2020, our best projection for the balance of the loan will be $181,000.00. That sum total is achieved by budgeted monthly payments toward debt retirement over the next two years. This $181,000.00 is included in our overall Capital Campaign. This would be a huge bonus if we could pay this off as well, allowing us to be debt free at the end of 2020.
